（觀傳媒中彰投新聞）【記者廖妙茜/台中報導】台中新光三越百貨今（21）日下午傳出玻璃破損，台中市政府都市發展局獲報後，第一時間派專人至現場勘查，經調查是因近日瞬間風力過大，導致8樓部份玻璃破損，都發局已立即張貼警告和拉設封鎖線，並請新光三越盡速改善，如限期未改善得連續罰鍰。
都發局表示，獲通報後都發局立即派員到場，與新光三越百貨管理人員到1樓、4樓露台等處勘查破損位置，經調查破損位置在8樓，已請新光三越將從建築物內部進行清理，並限期今日清理完成；為維護公共安全，現場除張貼警告和拉設封鎖線外，後續將依外牆和附掛物掉落相關法定程序列管追蹤修復進度，也請新光三越善盡管制區域的公安維護責任，以確保民眾安全。
都發局補充，依據建築法第77條第1項，建築物所有權人、使用人應維護建築物合法使用與其構造及設備安全，違者將處新台幣6萬元以上30萬元以下的罰鍰，若屆期仍未改善或補辦得連續處罰。
