受到樺加沙颱風外圍環流帶來豪雨影響，台鐵台東線鹿野至山里間（K146處）24日下午發生落石事件，導致423次自強號列車於13時33分撞擊落石後發生2軸出軌，所幸車上旅客均安，無人員傷亡。
台鐵指出，事故發生後立即派遣搶修列車，並於15時10分進入現場展開搶修作業；受影響旅客則由接駁車轉運，至16時19分全數完成疏散。目前鹿野至山里路段暫時中斷，關山至台東區間旅客改以公路車輛接駁。
為加強疏運能量，台鐵特別自台東站加開428次、432次及434次列車，經由南迴線前往高雄及新左營站，盡量減少旅客的不便。
台鐵公司呼籲旅客出發前多加留意列車時刻與相關公告，並隨時關注官方資訊，以掌握即時交通動態。
