針對媒體報高雄港洲際碼頭區P4工地，昨（30）日上午8時許，驚傳一名47歲林姓工人在桶槽內，突然蹲下隨即失去呼吸心跳，同事驚覺異狀緊急通報，仍無力挽回生命。勞工局官員表示，確認林姓工人是自然死亡並非工安事故，並未針對P4工地勒令停工。
南星計畫區P4工地，昨（30）日上午8時許，驚傳林姓工人在桶槽內身亡。這起意外發生地點位於高雄港洲際碼頭中油P4-1工地T-3608桶槽。一名中油潘姓員工於槽內部鷹架上察看施工環境時，赫然發現林姓男子突然身體不適蹲下，緊急將人帶往現場陰涼處休息，並立即通知救護車到場，將人送往小港醫院救治，不幸的是到院前已無呼吸心跳，宣告死亡。家屬接獲噩耗，趕抵現場了解狀況，家屬表示：林姓工人本來就身染疾病。高雄港警局也表示，現在沒有打鬥痕跡，也非工安事故，高雄地檢署報請刑事相驗，林姓工人屬於自然死亡！
據悉，南星計畫區位於高雄市小港區大林蒲海岸，是透過填海造陸形成的海埔新生地，目前為洲際二期石化儲運區，正如火如荼興建中。而這對林姓工人來說，是一場再日常不過的上工，生命卻劃下句點，留下的是家屬難以承受的缺席。
高雄市勞工局今天指出，該工人死亡之事件，並非工安意外，也沒有勒令工地停工，媒體報導報導已勒停工純屬誤傳。
