對於本（12）月9日，賓州大學Liz Magill校長的決定辭職，操以「猶太主義」狙擊哈佛、賓大、麻省理工三大世界頂尖名校校長的美國眾議員Elise Stefanik，雖於第一時間忘形地嘶喊：「走了一個，還有兩個待處理」（One down. Two to go），但她那噬血掠食的政客嘴臉，也瞬間激起了將近600位哈佛教授，自發築起精神的捍衛長城，除聯名簽署力保Claudine Gay校長外，也疾呼「務須維護學術自由及大學獨立自主」。

對此，囂張的Stefanik不知曾否想過，她的身後，雖有超過70位國會議員，和她一起仗勢口誅筆伐、極盡羞辱三位校長，且恫嚇以發動國會調查權，「將在行政、教師以及領導統御和大學治理上，對於『忽視反猶太主義』的大學，進行強力和全面的調查」（https://stefanik.house.gov/2023/12/stefanik-statement-on-the-resignation-of-the-university-of-pennsylvania-president-liz-magill），但由於他們對「猶太主義」抱持的立場明顯偏頗，自也招致了巨大的迴力反彈。

在參與連署的近600位哈佛教授裡，包括有：法學院Laurence H. Tribe教授、前白宮經濟顧問委員會（Council of Economic Advisers）主席Jason Furman教授，以及普立茲獎得主Annette Gordon-Reed教授等馳名國際的學者。連署發起人歷史系教授Maya R. Jasanoff與Derek J. Penslar表示：「連署的訴求為：1.敦促哈佛大學最高管理機構，以最強烈的措辭，抵制『罷除Gay校長』的叫喚聲（urging Harvard‘s top governing body to resist calls to remove University President Claudine Gay from her post in the strongest possible terms）；2.在面對出於政治動機的攻擊時，捍衛、固守大學的獨立自主原則（to defend the principle of university independence in the face of politically motivated attacks）；3.抵制與「學術自由承諾」相悖的政治壓力（to resist political pressures that are at odds with Harvard’s commitment to academic freedom）；4.不應由校友或政客做出大學領導層級的決定（decisions on University leadership should not be made by alumni or politicians）。

Jasanoff教授指出：「校園裡絕對有探索和澄清言論自由、學術自由的空間，但我不認為那些帶頭進行國會調查的人，是出於如此的善意」！Penslar教授則補充：「如果任由外部勢力決定大學形態，那麼，我們在多元化的校園裡，就無法捍衛『自由探索』的關鍵核心」。再者，歐巴馬總統的經濟顧問主席Jason Furman教授也執筆為Gay校長辯護，同時敦促學校不要屈服於外部壓力。

Furman教授在「X」平台上寫道：「由衷希望，我們不要讓捐贈者和政客來決定『誰該領導』我們的學校。Gay校長在聽證會前，就已譴責了種族滅絕，她在聽證會上也加以譴責，她在聽證會後又再次做出了譴責」。Furman教授指出：「作為一所學校，關於反猶太主義、伊斯蘭恐懼症、學術自由和言論自由、觀點多樣性…等，我們有工作要做，我們也需要在其中的許多方面加倍努力，但屈服於捐贈者和政客，最終將讓我們失去學術自由和言論自由」！（https://www.politico.com/news/2023/12/10/politicians-take-over-harvard-antisemitism-00130985）
